Country music star told to not mention Jesus – his response causes a standing ovation

However, organizers requested that he not perform any religious songs, particularly about Jesus. Rather than conform, Gill chose to defy the request and performed “Why Me Lord,” a gospel song by Kris Kristofferson, famously covered by legends like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.
