This Southern Chocolate Cobbler is a warm, gooey, and utterly decadent dessert. It’s incredibly easy to make, creating a rich chocolate sauce underneath a soft, cake-like top. Perfect for a cozy night in or a crowd-pleasing dessert.
Ingredients:

Boiling Water | 1 3/4 cups |
Instructions:

- Preheat Oven: Turn your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt Butter: Put the butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Place the dish in the oven to melt the butter.

- Mix Batter: In a bowl, mix the 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of cocoa powder, self-rising flour, milk, and vanilla extract.

- Pour Batter: Take the baking dish out of the oven. Pour the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir.
- Mix Topping: In a separate small bowl, mix the 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of cocoa powder.

- Sprinkle Topping: Sprinkle the sugar-cocoa mixture evenly over the batter.
- Pour Water: Carefully pour the boiling water over the top of the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake: Put the baking dish back in the oven. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
- Check Cobbler: The top should be set, but the bottom will still be a little saucy.
- Cool: Let the cobbler cool for 15 minutes before serving.
