Training pit bulls can be challenging as this breed is unfortunately known for being involved in aggressive incidents against humans. Most of these incidents are the result of mistreatment or training for fighting purposes.
However, many pit bulls make great companion dogs and have a strong desire to be close to their owners. It’s important for the owner to establish themselves as the leader and for the dog to recognize their authority, otherwise the dog may become dominant and potentially aggressive. This can be especially problematic if the owner is insecure or fearful, as the dog may pick up on these emotions and become more difficult to control.
