Donald Trumps hot mic reveals what he said to Justice Roberts

The news cycle these days seems to be moving faster than ever, especially with the constant focus on the new Republican administration under Donald Trump. With each headline comes a swirl of speculation about the actions and statements of politicians, particularly the President. The latest news, however, has been clarified directly by Trump himself.

Recently, President Donald Trump found himself under intense scrutiny, a position familiar to any sitting President. As expected, every word and move is analyzed and interpreted by the media. Before his speech before Congress, Trump was seen in a brief exchange with Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, an interaction that quickly sparked a wave of speculation.

In his presidential address earlier this week, Trump discussed a variety of international matters, including remarks about Russian President Vladimir Putin and the “strong signals” he had allegedly sent to the U.S. for peace. Trump also referenced a letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which Zelensky expressed his desire for peace and mentioned he was ready to sign a minerals deal with the U.S. at their convenience.

While much of the speech made headlines, it was the interaction with Justice Roberts beforehand that caught the public’s attention. Cameras captured Trump saying “thank you” to Roberts as he passed by, leading to a flurry of theories about the nature of the exchange. Speculation ran rampant, with some wondering what exactly Trump was thanking the Chief Justice for.

Before rumors could gain further traction, President Trump took to Truth Social to set the record straight. He wrote, “The Fake ‘Play the Ref’ News, in order to create a divide between me and our great U.S. Supreme Court, heard me say last night, loudly and openly as I was walking past the Justices on the way to the podium, ‘thank you,’ to Chief Justice John Roberts.”

Trump continued, “Like most people, I don’t watch Fake News CNN or MSDNC, but I understand they are going ‘crazy’ asking what is it that I was thanking Justice Roberts for?” He further clarified, “They never called my office to ask, of course, but if they had I would have told these sleazebag ‘journalists’ that I thanked him for SWEARING ME IN ON INAUGURATION DAY, AND DOING A REALLY GOOD JOB IN SO DOING! The Fake News never quits!”

During his address to Congress, Trump placed the war in Ukraine at the top of his agenda, particularly following a tense Oval Office meeting with Zelensky, in which Trump criticized the Ukrainian President for “gambling with World War 3.” Trump quoted Zelensky’s letter, which stated, “Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer.” He further added, “Nobody wants peace more than the Ukrainians. Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it at any time that is convenient for you.”

With Trump’s explanation, the speculation surrounding his interaction with Chief Justice Roberts has been put to rest. It’s clear that his thanks were directed toward Roberts for his role in swearing him in as President, a clarification that dispels the rumors once and for all.
