Garth Brooks’ friends fear for singer’s life amid latest rumors
Country music legend Garth Brooks’ health is taking a turn for the worse amid the ongoing rape scandal that threatens to derail his career.
RadarOnline report that friends of the singer are even fearing for his life following the shocking claims made by a former aide. The bombshell lawsuit in question was filed on Thursday, October 3 by a “Jane Roe” who claims to have worked for Brooks as a hairstylist and makeup artist.
The mystery woman’s suit detailed how she was employed by Brooks in 2017, but was hired to do hair and makeup for Trisha Yearwood – Brooks’ wife – in 1999.
Brooks quickly countersued the makeup artist for extortion and defamation, saying that she had threatened to go public with her story if he didn’t pay her millions of dollars.
Garth Brooks’ health
Yet though the 62-year-old has continued to vehemently deny the claims leveled against him, sources close to the award-winning singer are said to have told RadarOnline that he is struggling.
“He’s totally convinced he’ll get through this mess, but it’s caused him undue stress,” one insider allegedly said.
“He’s in legal meetings and the phone is going off 24/7. He’s having to fend off questions from friends and loved ones.”
A second source added: “It’s perhaps the most traumatic event of his life. The pressure he’s facing is enough to make him a nervous wreck.”
They continued: “He may look like he’s coming out swinging and all bluster, but behind the scenes he’s completely shattered by these ugly accusations.
“The irony is he’d gotten back to being healthy physically, but now there are genuine concerns about his blood pressure. It’s not helped he’s clearly seeking solace in the bread bin, too.
“People around him notice he’s gained weight, no doubt from the comfort eating, and worse he’s hoarding food from Trisha, sweets, chips, all kinds of bad stuff that she’d throw out.”
Rape claims
On October 7, a few days after the filing was made in California, Brooks told fans in a live-streamed chat: “Let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we? This thing is on. It’s gonna happen, and people are telling me it could be up to two years, OK?
“So my suggestion is, we all take a deep breath, we all just kind of settle in, and let’s hold hands and take a trip together.”
In a statement to CNN after the suit was filed, Brooks said: “For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars.”
“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another,” the singer continued.
According to the suit itself – as per CNN – Brooks and his accuser traveled to Los Angeles in 2019 on the star’s private jet.
“Once in Los Angeles at the hotel, Ms. Roe could not believe that Brooks had booked a hotel suite with one bedroom and she did not have a separate room.”
Once Brooks and Roe arrived at their hotel room, Roe’s suit alleges that the Friends in Low Places hitmaker “appeared in the doorway to the bedroom, completely naked.” Roe’s complaint states she felt “trapped in the room alone with Brooks.”
Roe’s attorneys reportedly told CNN that Brooks’ “efforts to silence our client through the filing of a preemptive complaint in Mississippi was nothing other than an act of desperation and attempted intimidation.”
