This Hearty Meat and Potato Casserole is a comforting and satisfying dish perfect for family dinners. Layers of tender potatoes, flavorful ground beef, and a creamy mushroom sauce are topped with melted cheese, creating a warm and delicious meal.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground beef 1 pound
Potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced 5
Yellow onion, chopped 1
Cream of mushroom soup 1 can
Heavy whipping cream 1/4 cup
Dried rosemary 1 teaspoon
Beef broth 1/2 cup
Garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon
Shredded cheese (cheddar) 1 1/2 cups
Salt To taste
Black pepper To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Slice potatoes, chop onion, and shred cheese.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté Onion: In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion until soft.
  4. Mix Creamy Sauce: In a bowl, combine mushroom soup, cream, beef broth, rosemary, and garlic powder.
  5. Layer Casserole:
    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    Grease baking dish.
  6. Layer: potatoes, ground beef, onion, half of the creamy sauce.
    Repeat layers, ending with potatoes.
    Pour remaining creamy sauce over top.
  7. Bake (Covered): Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Add Cheese: Remove foil, sprinkle cheese, and bake uncovered for 15 minutes, until cheese is melted.
  9. Rest and Serve: Let rest a few minutes before serving.
