Baked Blooming Onions
Ingredients:

All-purpose flour | 1/2 cup |
Breadcrumbs | 1/2 cup |
Paprika | 1 tsp |
Garlic powder | 1/2 tsp |
Onion powder | 1/2 tsp |
Dried oregano | 1/2 tsp |
Salt | 1/2 tsp |
Black pepper | 1/4 tsp |
Eggs | 2 large |
Milk | 2 tbsp |
Olive oil spray | As needed |
Dipping sauce | Your choice |
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut off the top of the onion and peel outer layer. Make vertical cuts from 1/2 inch from root to create petals.
- Gently separate petals without breaking them.
- Combine flour, breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Whisk eggs and milk in another bowl.
- Dredge onion in egg mixture, then in flour mixture.
- Spray onion with olive oil.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until crispy and tender.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
